Sweet Dream House Rescue

Sweet Dream House Rescue, Inc. is a non-profit, no kill, all volunteer, all breed animal rescue. We utilize a network of foster homes for pets ready for adoption. Our mission is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals, to spay/neuter, vaccinate and provide any needed medical care until they are adopted into loving homes. We are often the rescue of last resort, waiting until other rescues select from the euthansia lists to rescue those that are not selected.

Meet Bearclaw

What do you think, left tilt or right tilt, which head tilt is cuter? I need to look as cute as possible so I can find a forever home of my own. My name is BEARCLAW and everyone tells me I look like a Boston Terrier/Beagle mix. What do you think? I'm about 2 years old but people see the white on my face and think I'm an old man. I'm like "people, that's just my face".  Now the folks here at the rescue say I'm overweight and they named me Bearclaw because I look like I've had too many donuts. Kinda rude, right? Anyway, it's true, I would like to drop a few pounds so it's easier for me to run and play. They tell me I weigh 37 pounds but I should weigh around 29 pounds to help me live a long healthy life and avoid arthritis. I was surrendered to a rural shelter with my brother Dusty. Boy that was scary. I couldn't understand why we were in doggie jail, we are very good boys. Thankfully a very nice lady came and bailed us out of dog jail and told us we were going to be okay. I would love to find a new home with another friendly dog. Even better, I'd love to find a home where I can stay with my brother Dusty. He's just like me! If you want to meet me, please fill out a dog adoption application on this thing called a website, dreamhouserescue.org. The people here say they will set up something called a private meet, whatever that is. I think it's like a date but you bring me treats. I'll also be at the Sweet Dream House Rescue adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
