Happy-Go-Lucky BANJO wants to be your favorite bro. He's a fun, adventurous young dude who's always ready to rock. Banjo is an Australian Cattle Dog/Beagle mix, about 1 year old and fully grown at 40 pounds. Someone has put in training work with Banjo. He knows sit and down and makes perfect eye contact, waiting for instruction. He's still very puppyish and like many teenage boys he sometimes needs to be reminded that he's had some training, he just gets so excited he forgets himself. He loves loves loves to play fetch and loves to play with squeaky toys. Banjo loves everyone he meets, he turns on the charm when meeting new people. Banjo is dog friendly and appears to be housebroken. If you're looking for a couch potato, Banjo is not the dog for you. If you're looking for a fun active lifestyle dog, you definitely need to hang out with Banjo. If you'd like to meet Banjo, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue.org. We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Banjo at our weekly adoption event, Saturday noon-2 at PetSmart Eastgate. All our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Adoption Process
We offer Foster To Adopt for dogs adoptions. You must complete the application, be approved and pay a $100 deposit ($150 puppies). You can then take the dog home for a trial visit of up to one week This will help you determine if you and the dog are the right match. If yes, then you can finalize the adoption. If no, then you return the dog to us and you are welcome to try a different dog. complete the necessary paperwork and pay a $100 deposit for adult dogs and $150 for puppies (cash, check or credit card). This fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the adoption fee if you decide to finalize the adoption. The adoption fee includes the dog's spay/neuter surgery, parvo/distemper shots and rabies shots (for dogs over 6 months), deworming, microchipping, flea and tick protection, heartworm testing (for dogs over 6 months), and monthly heartworm protection until the dog gets adopted.
