SDRD is a state licensed 501(c)3 non-profit no kill dog rescue and group foster home located in Topeka, KS. It is our goal to network with other local rescues and shelters to save dogs that are at risk for being euthanized due to lack of space. We are committed to educating the public on responsible pet ownership, the importance of spaying and neutering, along with the dangers of purchasing a dog from a pet store or puppy mill.

Meet Maggie May

Hi I’m Maggie May! I came to rescue with my pups and I’ve been a great momma. But it’s time to find a wonderful family for me! I love all people- big or small. I aspire to be a lap dog and at just 23(ish) lbs I’m a pretty good size to hang out in your lap all day long!!! I am also a playful girl, I’ll play with dogs of all sizes. But when you’re ready to cuddle just let me know. I will bark when a stranger arrives, but just want to be sure you know. Once you have the situation under control I’m just fine and I can go back to being my friendly self!!  I’m houses trained and the sweetest girl around! Adoption Process
Complete adoption application, all pets in home must be spayed/neutered and current on shots, do a home check and vet check, sign an adoption agreement, agree that dog is returned in unable to keep, adoption fee is $200.
