Meet Frosty

Frosty is a 5.5-year-old, male, Maltese/Toy Poodle mix weighing around 7.5 lbs. He  came to Hope Animal Rescue, through no fault of his own, after being surrendered when his owner became ill and had to move to an assisted living environment  and couldn't take him along. He had not had any regular grooming or vet care for a few years, but we have taken care of all of that. Well, we are still working on the grooming. The vet was able to trim his nails and clean up around his eyes. A groomer was able to shave his back side, but he was pretty stressed out being at the groomer, so we opted to stop there. His foster mom has been able to trim the front half pretty well. We plan to have a full groom one he has acclimated to his foster home and built up more trust with his foster family.  Once we were able to get Frosty's coat and nails in better shape, he has opened up so much in his foster home. As expected, he was a bit timid at first but in the past week he has started acting like a puppy! He loves to chase toys and play with the older children and cat in his foster home. The cat is pretty dog savvy, so this works out well. Frosty enjoys going outside for a walk, he sleeps in his kennel, and is house trained. This boy is a sweet, little teddy bear!  He will require regular professional grooming every couple of months so adopters must be able to financially provide for that care in addition to vet care regular care.  If you are interested in meeting Frosty, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
