Meet COCO

My name is Coco and I am a tricolor & brown shih tzu/beagle mix. I am an intact male (I will be neutered before I am adopted) and I am 7 months old. I am here because I was given up by my owner on 05/02/2025 due to the fact my owner had personal problems happening in their life and could not take care of me anymore. They were my family for 6-9 months. I am used to being both inside and outside during the day and inside during the night. I am potty trained. I am a medium energy dog and I can live with an owner with no prior pet owning experience. I am used to staying in crates when I am alone or need to be safely contained, and I am still learning to walk nicely on a leash. There are lots of things you can do to get me to walk comfortably and safely on a leash. The staff can tell you all about it! I would do well with simple obedience training to help us bond and for us to learn how to communicate with each other. I will escape if the gate is open. Luckily, all you have to do is keep the gate shut all the time! I do not need a fenced in yard, however it would always be nice to have one so I can run free in a safe space! I can be good with men, women, and children. I have not been around other cats or dogs.All dogs are tested for heartworms and given flea preventatives. They are also tested for intestinal parasites and receive routine dewormings. Dogs are vaccinated against distemper, rabies, and bordetella, spayed/neutered before adoption, and have a microchip. Adoption fees include the initial automated registration of the microchip at the time of adoption.
