True to her name, Moxie is a spunky, playful girl who brings a spark everywhere she goes! She is a picky eater at times but will gladly accept some "stinky" wet food or treats. She is pretty easy going when it comes to walking on a leash and going for car rides. She is mostly just excited to be with whoever will show her attention. She is friendly with all people and gets along with most dogs, however, she would not be a fit with small dogs, overly energetic pups, or cats. Moxie also loves to play, especially with balls and will even entertain herself with them. Moxie is currently on seizure medication and has done wonderfully on it, having no seizures while in our care. Therefore it is important that adopters keep her on this medication to give her a long and healthy life. Moxie's adoption fee is $250 and includes her spay, microchip, current vaccinations and preventives, plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. Moxie is seeking a home as an indoor only pet. Last Hope requires that all adopters have a history of having kept their pets altered, kept current on vaccines and preventatives, and as indoor pets only. Our adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit. If you would like to meet Moxie please fill out an adoption application on our website, Adopthope.org.
Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit.
The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies.
Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue.
The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
