Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Vinny

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Vinny is a fun loving guy who would love to go on long walks and play in the water. He knows how to sit and shake.  He loves to play with a ball and he is extremely loyal.  He is eager to learn and ready for any adventure.  With the nice weather he loves being outside.  He is good with the kids in his foster home that are ages 8 and 12 but does tend to get overly excited so no kids under 8 for this big guy.  Vinny loves all the attention so if you are willing to give him it he will be your best friend! Vinny has shown he is not a good fit for a home with kitties!  He is also dog selective so a home with a laid back but playful dog might be ok otherwise he is probably best as an only dog.  Please consider adopting this fun adventurous guy! Vinny was born July 2022 and is up to date on vaccinations, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00 

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
