You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website dakotadachshundrescue.org We are a foster home based rescue.Please fill out the online adoption application by clicking on Adoption Info under the Navigation bar on the left side of the page.Fill out the online form by clicking on the picture of the computer screen with our logo on it. Zelda came to DDR as a breeder release. She was adopted but things didnt work out with her new family So she is back at DDR. She is still working on potty training which can be very frustrating. She has gotten more social but still a bit timid. She loves having another dog to hang with so we will look for a furever family that has another dog, a fenced yard and time to work with her. If that is you apply for Zelda. She is a sweet girl.  Zelda is about 8 years old and weighs about 15 pounds. Her adoption fee is $250 plus tax of $11.25 for a total of $261.25. 

Adoption Process
Usually we are contacted by a SD shelter about a dachshund that is not doing well (nipping etc.) and that they are going to be put down. We take them in get them vetted and then place them up for adoption after they have been evaluated. We also take calls from folks who have called their local shelter about there dachshund that may have started nipping at small children etc and are told the dog would be put down. We also take calls from other rescues about breeder dogs.
