Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Heather Blossom

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** Heather Blossom is the name of this cute little senior lady.  Heather came to us when her owner could no longer care for her due to medical issues.  Heather Blossom is 10 years old and she is a 14 pound Shih Tzu/Brussel Griffon mix.  Heather is spayed, up to date of vaccinations and microchipped.  She will need a dental done as most small dogs her age.  She is house trained, walks well on a leash and rides nicely in a car.  She is not a fan of other dogs at all but would be ok possibly with cats.  She doesn't seem to have any issues with the kitties when she visits the shelter.  She is a friendly little girl and is ok with children as well.  Heather is pretty quiet and would love a calm home to snuggle up with someone and maybe watch tv or read a book.  If you are interested in offering a forever home to Heather Blossom hop over to the website to complete the application.  Her adoption fee is $150.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed.
