Meet Lyra
Hi, I'm Lyra! I'm named after a small constellation in the northern sky with over 60 stars. Just look at me ... I'm cute. I'm tiny. I look like a little fox and I have 2 beautiful different colored eyes. My foster mom says I'm the prettiest dog she's ever seen. But that's not all! I'm sweet and gentle. I've been sleeping in the big bed and I sleep through the night. I am quiet and respectful when meeting new humans - maybe even a little hesitant. At home where I'm comfortable I talk to my humans letting them know when I'd like a bite of their food or when I'm bored and would like all the attention to be paid to me! I'm a great entertainer and love to show off my zoomies. They are impressive zoomies! I float when I jump! I have done well meeting new dogs and even cats. I'm a great playmate to other dogs and I have a submissive play style. I do some funny tricks like booping them on the nose and then hopping right over them. I'm also super fast! I do well with baths and brushing. I'm a great eater and seem to be in perfect health. Since I just recently got this fresh new start at life, I'm still learning some house skills. My foster family is teaching me potty training and crate training and I'm working hard at learning these. Am I making you starry eyed? Fill out an application and ask for me, Lyra!
Adoption Process
Our Adoption Process
After you submit your adoption application, via our website, http://TaysiaBlue.com, a Taysia Blue volunteer will
contact you within 2-3 days. We are most interested in which type dog will
be a good fit for you and your family and the other pets in your home.
We will also contact you by phone to learn
more about the dog you're looking for and to review the current available
dogs in our rescue.
We will schedule an appointment for you to meet the dog(s). If a match is made,
we can complete the adoption process at that time. If we don't find the
perfect match, we'll keep trying till we do!
We hope that your home is the very last stop on the dog's journey and we do
all we can to help you and your dog make the transition easier, including
providing you with an information packet loaded with tips and resources.
Our quality standard vet care is as follows:
• Spay/Neuter - All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to being
adopted.
• Heartworm Test - If the heartworm test is negative, the dog is placed on
regular heartworm preventative. If the heartworm test is positive, the dog
is treated to eradicate the heartworms and then placed on regular heartworm
preventative.
• Rabies vaccination
• DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo) vaccination
• Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination
• Flea and tick preventative
• Microchip
