Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue

Taysia Blue Siberian Husky Rescue in Nebraska is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our all volunteer mission is to keep Huskies and Malamutes out of shelters where they are at risk of being killed due to overcrowding. Siberian Huskies are beautiful. It's hard not to fall in love with their fluffy coats and gorgeous eyes, it's hard not to laugh at their antics and marvel at their independent intelligence. But with the fur comes the shedding, with the antics comes possible destruction and with the independence and intelligence comes a rather nomadic Houdini of a dog that wants to escape and run for the fun of it. Often these dogs are adopted by people who are not prepared for the very traits they were attracted to. Some husky owners are not prepared for the amount of energy these dogs have and the exercise they require. They are intelligent, but often easily bored and not easy to train, they can be stubborn and mischievous. Please research this breed carefully before you choose to adopt a Siberian husky.

Meet Bear

Top o' the morning to ya! I'm Bear.  Looking at my cute profile pic, you probably noticed I'm a big guy and extremely good looking! You also see that I'm not your average husky mally type. The secret ingredients that created my breed mixture produced "The Ultimate Superdog"! If you're thinking this is great, you're correct, but I must warn you I come with a  set of unique challenges!   First of all, I'm highly intelligent. Like, smarter than your average dog and also many humans. Some may call this "too smart". I get bored quickly. I'm creative and I can figure out my own entertainment. I'm likely to test the limits, push the boundaries, and question your rules. I will require a lot from my human(s) ...  more training, more attention, more play and exercise. I'm a Houdini and will find a way to take myself on a run. (Running is my passion!) I can open doors and drawers and I'll rearrange your things if you leave me too long! Speaking of leaving, I'd love to find someone who can be with me more often than not. I'm a sweet, giant lap dog and most of all I want to be with my people and included in your activities. I could be your partner, your co-worker, and your best friend. We could go on runs or maybe we could learn a sport together! Most important is that you give me approved fun projects to use my body and my mind so this genius doesn't make up his own!    I like dogs and I've lived with kids. I will need you to make sure I  don't push the boundaries with them or topple them over. I do  forget my size sometimes!   I still act like a crazy puppy at times but technically I'm way past those years. If you can meet and manage my needs things will only get better with time.    A wise human once said, "Don't be afraid to take on big challenges. They give the best rewards." If you're up for this one, fill out an application and mention Bear!

Adoption Process
Our Adoption Process After you submit your adoption application, via our website, http://TaysiaBlue.com, a Taysia Blue volunteer will contact you within 2-3 days. We are most interested in which type dog will be a good fit for you and your family and the other pets in your home. We will also contact you by phone to learn more about the dog you're looking for and to review the current available dogs in our rescue. We will schedule an appointment for you to meet the dog(s). If a match is made, we can complete the adoption process at that time. If we don't find the perfect match, we'll keep trying till we do! We hope that your home is the very last stop on the dog's journey and we do all we can to help you and your dog make the transition easier, including providing you with an information packet loaded with tips and resources. Our quality standard vet care is as follows: • Spay/Neuter - All dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to being adopted. • Heartworm Test - If the heartworm test is negative, the dog is placed on regular heartworm preventative. If the heartworm test is positive, the dog is treated to eradicate the heartworms and then placed on regular heartworm preventative. • Rabies vaccination • DHP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo) vaccination • Bordatella (kennel cough) vaccination • Flea and tick preventative • Microchip Our adoption donation requirements are as follows: • Puppies 6 months of age or younger require a donation of $350. • Dogs over 6 months and under 8 years old require a donation of $300. • Dogs 8 years and older require a donation of $250.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
