Satchel is a handsome and quite fluffy Great Pyrenees who is ready to find his forever home. This very large boy, estimated to be around 4 years old, came into our care as a stray. He was lost and overwhelmed at first, but with each passing day, his personality is starting to shine through. At around 145 (!!!) pounds, Satchel is a big boy, and is currently on a weight-management journey to help him feel his best. We know this boy has been through a lot, as he came to us with a neck wound needing medical attention, but is now healing nicely. And many thanks to the help of a groomer, many of his mats have been shaved off, and he'll be getting more pampering soon to help him feel even more comfortable. Due to his background as a livestock guardian breed, Satchel is looking for a family who is familiar with the unique and wonderful personality of Great Pyrenees or other similar guardian breeds. These dogs thrive in homes that understand their calm nature, protective instincts, and independent spirit. We are still getting to know all of his quirks and favorite things, but we know Satchel will blossom into a loyal companion. **Satchel has been brought up-to-date on his vaccinations and heartworm bloodwork testing. Since he is on medical hold due to a healing wound, we are estimating him to be ready for adoption around 10/1/25. If you have experience with Great Pyrenees and believe you could be the perfect match for this handsome giant, please complete an adoption application for Satchel to learn more and to schedule a meet & greet with him. The application is found on our website at www.wesavepets.com.
