Meet Honey

Meet Honey, a beautiful and energetic young girl looking for her forever family! This sweet girl is estimated to be around 7 months old and currently weighs 37 pounds (but we guess she will continue to grow some more!) Between her striking eyes and beautiful speckled coat - we have guessed her to be a Catahoula mix (maybe with Aussie? or Lab?) Whatever the blend - we think she is truly just gorgeous!  Honey was found as a stray - despite her rough start and not exactly knowing her history, she is quickly settling in and learning to trust, love, and bond with our volunteers. We just know her loving nature will steal someone's heart! She is smart and curious, and absolutely just loves attention. She has been enjoying her long walks and sniffing out all of the new scents. Honey would thrive in a home that can provide her with regular exercise and mental stimulation as she continues to "work" her young mind. She is incredibly affectionate once she learns to trust you - she just melts into pets and leans in for ALL of the cuddles! We are working on basic manners and can already tell she will be a quick learner, especially when treats are involved. Because of her unknown history, she can be a bit shy and submissive when meeting new unfamiliar faces. We think she would do best with a patient and understanding adopter who can help her continue to build her confidence. We are unsure of her compatibility with other dogs and cats at this time - but will be sure to update as we continue learning more about her.  She has been spayed, brought up-to-date on her vaccinations, has received a microchip, and been started on monthly flea/tick & heartworm preventatives. Honey did test positive for Lyme Disease (a tick-borne illness) and has been started on 30 days of medication (antibiotics) for this. Adoption Process
Adopters must fill out an application and be approved. Appointment is made to meet/pick up the pet. Adoption fee is returned if the adopter notifies us the adoption in not working and returns the pet within two weeks.
