Attention lab lovers! Max is a handsome and smart labrador with a heart as big as his goofy smile. This sweet boy is around 8 years old, and came to us due to overcrowding at our local city shelter. He is brushing up on his leash manners, but is already potty and kennel trained! An outdoor enthusiast at heart, Max loves to spend time outside in his yard and could easily be your next adventure buddy. He does well with children and dogs of all sizes - making him a great addition to a family home. However, we are not quite sure how he feels about cats at this time. If you're looking for a loyal, fun-loving companion who's ready to grow with you, Max might just be your perfect match. Max's adoption fee is $250 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run #2 in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of having kept their pets altered, indoors, and current on vaccinations and preventative care. Our adoption process includes a background check, home visit, and a vet history check. If you would like to meet Max, please fill out an adoption application on our website at adopthope.org.
Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit.
The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies.
Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue.
The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
