Meet Maverick

Say hello to Maverick, a seven month old ball of energy who's as sweet as he is spirited! This wild child is all puppy-goofy, curious, and always ready for action. Maverick already knows how to sit, shake, lay down, drop it, and stay, and he'll trot right into his crate with his crate command.  He's almost potty trained-he's getting the hang of it, just needs a little more time and consistency.  He's full of that classic puppy energy-nonstop motion, goofy zoomies, and always ready to play until he finally crashes. When he does, he turns into the biggest cuddle bug, soaking up all the snuggles he can get. He's obsessed with toys of all kinds, and he'll keep himself entertained (and you, too!) if there's a ball, squeaker, or chew nearby!  He can be a bit stubborn-he definitely has a mind of his own-but with the right mix of patience and structure, he'll thrive! And just so you know, he's a bit of a barker-he likes to make his opinions known and isn't shy about speaking up when he wants something. Maverick is full of personality, super smart, and would do great with an active individual, couple, or a family that's ready to give him guidance, love, and LOTS of playtime!  Since he can be a rough player, he'll do best in a home that understands typical puppy behavior and is committed to helping him continue learning good manners. .  If you're ready for a little chaos, a lot of love, and a pup who will keep you on your toes- Maverick is your guy!   Maverick's adoption fee is $300 and includes his neuter, microchip, current vaccinations and preventatives, plus a free basic training course at Cedar Run in Hiawatha. Last Hope requires that all animals be kept as indoor only pets and that adopters have a history of keeping their pets altered and up to date on vaccinations and preventatives. If you are interested in meeting Maverick, please fill out an adoption application for consideration. The adoption process includes a background check, vet history check, and a home visit. 

Adoption Process
Prior to adoption, all of our dogs have been tested for heartworm, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. Our adoption process includes reference and background checks, a vet check and home visit. The adoption fee for dogs and puppies varies. Prior to adoption, our cats have been tested for feline leukemia, current on vaccinations, micro-chipped, and spayed or neutered, if age appropriate. If at the time of adoption, the kitten is too young to be spayed or neutered, an agreed upon time frame will be set for when this procedure is to be done. Spaying or neutering is not an optional procedure, it is required of all animals we rescue. The adoption fee for cats and kittens varies.
