Emmet County Animal Shelter

We live in a primarily rural area with a 50% poverty level and 40% non Caucasian/transient population. Due to the farmer mentality or disposable mentality of our area many pets find them selves homeless due to no fault of their own. We take in animals that are neglected, abandon, injured or just unwanted. We rehabilitate them and then re-home them through our adoption process. We have been solely foster based since 2010 and are currently building our new facility. We do it all with volunteers and we do it because we love it! The animals deserve better and we try our best to offer them that by doing what we can, when we can, the best we can, with what we have and with all our heart.

Meet Atlas

***The first step in the adoption process is to complete the adoption application at www.emmetcountyanimalshelter.org*** These 4 little cuties kinda look like boxer puppies but your guess is as good as ours!  Momma Carmel looks to be a small pittie/staffy mix but she has a wrinkly forehead so who knows. She is about 40 pounds and sweet as can be.  The pups are Sierra (the only girl), Ural the one that is more reddish in color and then the twins...Atlas and Andes.  We are having a hard time telling those boys apart in looks or personality.  Sierra seems to be a daddy's girl and gravitates to the guys for cuddles.  She is sweet, calm and snuggly.  Ural has the big brother personality telling the others what they should all do and seems to get told by mom that he needs to behave too! He is the leader pup and you can tell he's smart.  He is most intrigued by what the people are doing so you can be sure his little brain is working to figure things out.  Atlas and Andes are fun loving and adventurous but also cuddly.   The pups are up to date on vaccinations and microchipped.  They will be adopted on spay/neuter contracts and their adoption fee is $300.00

Adoption Process
application, adoption fees for dogs/puppies start at $150-$300. Cats/kittens are free will offering adoptions. Contracts for adoptions must be signed. All animals (unless too young) are altered prior to adoption. If not altered a deposit is paid and given back plus a rebate after the alteration has been performed.
