Meet Penny

Meet Penny! Penny came to us as an owner surrender as her family had some change in living conditions and decided it was best to find Penny a home where she can continue to live out her golden years with lots of love. Penny is a sweet, gentle girl. She loves to give the most gentle, sloppy kisses - and most importantly, she loves her people. She originally came from a home where her elderly owners were home most all of the time. After the passing of her primary owner, she had been living with a young, active family which was a tough adjustment for Penny. Penny is very afraid of loud noises like storms and fireworks. Her previous family tried a special anixety-crate for Penny during these times, which seemed to help. Penny was used to being kenneled during the working hours of the day, as when her anxiety set-in she has been known to destroy things out of fear and being alone during these times. We believe Penny would do best in a quiet home where her people are around often. She enjoys human interaction - and really seems to calm when people are nearby. Penny has been in a home with young children, and we were told she did great. The cats in her previous home did not get along well with Penny, so any introductions with future feline friends would need to be taken slow. If possible, a home without cats would be even better for Penny so there is not future worry about anyone not getting along. Penny has been brought up-to-date on her vaccinations, has been microchipped, and started on monthly flea/tick and Heartworm preventatives. Penny is ready to begin her search for her new forever home! Please complete an online adoption application found on our website as the first step of the adoption process. Our website is www.wesavepets.com. Once the application has been submitted, a Safe Haven volunteer will be in contact to discuss the next steps.
