Meet Lily

A re you an active, outdoor loving person/family? If so, we have the perfect girl for you! Please don't let the fact that she is black keep you from meeting this girl. Lily is about 15 months old and weighs about 70 lbs. She is a mixed breed of Terrier and well we don't know what. She has short fur that does not pick up cockleburs or other plant debris when she walks in the tall grass and woods. This is a major plus for her going on outdoor adventures with her family. Lily does well with other dogs but she has not been cat tested. She is kennel trained, goes in on her own, and is quiet. Lily loves to chew on bones and is treat motivated. She loves people including kids, but she does tend to jump up on people when she is excited so continued work on that and kids that can handle that behavior would be best. She knows basic commands and is house trained. She would love another active dog to play with to help burn off her energy. She does well on a leash but she is strong so continued work on her impulse control on a leash will be needed. Lily rides in a car very well. She has been in foster care with Hope for 6 months and is in need of a forever family to give her the life she deserves. If you are looking for a young dog that is house trained, has enough energy to be active with you, sleeps all night, and has wonderful potential to be a loyal, well-trained companion then Lily is your girl!    If you are interested in meeting Lily, please complete an online application at  https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $250 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
