Meet Katarina

Katarina is a 16-week-old, female, purebred German Shepherd. She and her siblings were born in the Des Moines area on December 7, 2023. Katarina is a typical puppy that is very energetic, playful, and social. She loves people and other dogs. She has no experience with cats and has been working on house training. German Shepherds are an intelligent, loyal, working breed. They need an outlet for their physical and mental well-being. Applicants must have a plan for how to train and exercise Katarina everyday to avoid her getting bored and developing undesirable behaviors as she grows into an adult dog. They must also be willing to sign up for our referred training program, have a fenced yard, and recent experience owning or having owned and trained a German Shepherd or similar working dog breed. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED NOT MEETING THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. Siblings: Anneliese (F) Thea (F) Hubert (M) & Rainer (M) If you are interested in meeting Katarina, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
