Meet Thea

Thea is a female, purebred German Shepherd. She and her siblings were born in the Des Moines area on December 7, 2023. Thea is a typical puppy that is very energetic, playful, and social. She loves people and other dogs. She is interested in the cat in her foster home and has done well learning to coexist. She does well with house training on a consistent schedule. German Shepherds are an intelligent, loyal, working breed and she is true to that! She loves pleasing her human, learning, and being with them. She goes so many places with her foster mom including work at times. GSDs need a lots of outlets for their physical and mental well-being. She has so much potential.  Applicants must have a plan for how to train and exercise Thea everyday to avoid her getting bored and developing undesirable behaviors as she grows into an adult dog. They must also be willing to sign up for our referred training program, preferred to have a fenced yard, and recent experience owning or having owned and trained a German Shepherd or similar working dog breed. APPLICATIONS RECEIVED NOT MEETING THESE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED   Siblings: Anneliese (F) Katarina (F) Hubert (M) & Rainer (M) If you are interested in meeting Thea, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
