August is scheduled for his neuter on Wednesday, July 9. He will not be available for adoption outside a 30-minute radius of Des Moines until after that date. We do not place holds on dogs. August is an approximate 12-week-old, male, 20 lb., German Shepherd/Weimaraner mix. I'm August! My foster mom calls me Gus. I'm just a puppy but I've got a lot of energy and love to give. I love to play and I'm always up for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. I can't resist a good chew toy, the tougher the better! I get along great with other dogs and cats; I'm looking for a family who can match my spirit. I'd love a home with another dog to play with and older kids who can keep up with my energy. I'm always ready for a cuddle when playtime is over. I'm not just a pet, I'm a companion, a friend, and a confidant. I'll be there for you through thick and thin, always ready to lend a paw or a comforting snuggle. I'm not just looking for a home, I'm looking for a family. I promise to bring joy, laughter, and unconditional love into your life. Will you be my forever family? He will be a large dog when full grown. August and his siblings are a mix of very active, energetic breeds. They will not do well in an apartment and need a yard to play in. Early formal training is a must in order to help them become well rounded adult dogs. Applications from individuals living in an apartment or one without a yard will not be considered. Applicants should research the German Shepherd and Weimaraner breeds before applying to consider the needs of the puppy as they grow into adult dogs. Siblings: Tobias (M) August (M) Flynn (M) and Eleanor (F) If you are interested in meeting August, please complete an online application at https://hopeanimalrescueofiowa.duplie.com/forms/196/dog-application Adoption fee is $300 which includes spay/neuter, microchip, and age appropriate vaccines.
