Meet Gimli

Meet the gregarious, exuberant boy that is Mr. Gimli! Gimli is a 2-year-old, 50-lb. Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler mix who originally came to Hope as a puppy in January, 2021. He was recently surrendered back to Hope after the young child in his home proved to have too much energy for Gimli to safely process. He is house-trained, crate trained and a snuggly, lover boy who adores giving his humans lots of hugs and kisses and frolicking outside with the pack in his foster home. He was raised in a home with a cat and never showed any aggression so would likely do well in a home with felines who are used to inquisitive dog companions. While being part of a dog pack is still very new to him, he has figured out his place in the foster home pack nicely. He does enjoy sleeping with his human and snuggling through the night. And Gimli loves to talk!  From whines (when he feels he is being ignored) to playful moans and yips - he is not shy to let you know how he's feeling. This guy is such a great companion - We're sure he will not be with us long!!! Due to the issues with a smaller child in his previous life we would only feel comfortable adopting him to a home with older, dog-respectful/considerate children. Adoption Process
We require an application be completed, do home visits and check references. Have meet and greets with children and other pets. We require animals be returned to us if circumstances change. We require a signed adoption contract. We do not allow our animals to be kept outdoors. $100 Senior Dog (9+ years old) $200 Adult Dog $225 Puppy $30 Senior Cat (10+ years old) $60 Adult Cat $100 Kitten (or 2 for $150) Purebred/Designer dog adoption fees will be determined on case by case basis dependent on finders fees, vetting costs and transporting fees. Each purebreds breed will determine baseline fee.
