Community Animal Rescue Effort (CARE)

C.A.R.E. is a non-profit, all volunteer and foster-based animal rescue located in Columbus, Indiana working to promote animal welfare through community awareness, education and responsible pet adoptions. We promote spaying and neutering as the way to relieve the number of animals entering our local shelters.. We work with local shelters to help with overpopulation and to increase the number of adoptions.

Meet Kingston

Kingston arrived in foster care at 42lbs and skin issues. We aren't sure his story, but he's recovering so well. he listens really well, but you will have to be patient and keep working with him as he has the memory of a goldfish. He just needs time. he very much loves to chew up anything plush. A firm "leave it" and he walks away. He is crate trained, housetrained, does well with dogs. Seems to want to chase cats, but does not seem aggressive towards them. He is not dog aggressive at all. He walks well on a leash, does good in the car & loves to walk in the woods❤️ He is not poultry safe (he IS a Pointer after all) 5/8/25 Kingston has been going through training and is such a quick learner! He is being neutered 5/8/25 then will be ready to be adopted ❤️5/13 Kingston has learned the beep on his collar and responds to it amazingly well! I think he would be easily trained to an invisible fence
