Maya Poppi isn’t your average 4 year old pocket Pit mix. She is the best mix of puppy energy and couch potato. At 39 pounds of playfulness and curiosity, Maya Poppi is ready to meet you. Shy at first, Maya Poppi quickly warms up to her people and environment and wants to be your new BFF! She is sweet with everyone and good with dogs, cats and kids! After running in the yard with her dog friends or chasing a ball, she is ready to curl up near you and take a nap. She knows some basic commands and is learning more each day. She is crate trained, potty trained and ready to find her furever family!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
