Female, Chihuahua, 9-10 years old approximately 15 pounds Edith is a very sweet senior chihuahua who is looking for a new home! Edith is great around kids, dogs, and cats. She is very calm and a little shy at first but after a few hours she will be your best friend. Edith is potty trained and doesn’t mind being in a crate as long as it has a bed or blanket! Edith would be the perfect couch buddy but still has energy to go for walks and trips in the car. Adopt Edith today!
Adoption Process
Applicants must fill out an application at www.adoptapitrescue.org/apply. We screen all applications, with approved applicants passing a vet and landlord check. All pets in the home must be spayed/neutered and up to date on all vaccinations and on year-round heartworm preventative. Non-homeowners must have permission from their landlord to have a dog. Once approved, we schedule a home visit, where an adoption representative takes the dog to the adopter's home to see if the dog is a good fit for the family and other pets, as well as verify the home is a safe environment for the dog. If everyone feels the dog is a good fit, a contract is signed, adoption fee is paid, and the family takes possession of the dog, unless other arrangements are made. Typical adoption fees are $175 for adult dogs and $200 for puppies. We reserve the right to charge different fees for "designer" breeds. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, heartworm tested, and on heartworm preventative at the time of adoption. All dogs have been examined by our veterinarian and given a clean bill of health at the time of adoption.
