S.A.D. is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Starke County, Indiana. We are a private rescue and do not receive funds from the County. We are a foster-based rescue with a mission to serve the homeless dogs by fostering and supporting healthy, positive relationships between people and companion animals. S.A.D. rehomes companion pets into safe, healthy, lifelong homes; serves as an educational and counseling resource; and works to reduce pet overpopulation. We do it because every dog deserves a home

Meet Tippy

Tippy is an AKC registered Portuguese Water Dog . She was a breeding momma and was recently retired and transferred to us. She just turned 5 years old end of March. She is 50lbs.  Her foster describes her as very sweet dog with a calm disposition, housebroken, and listens well. Sleeps all night.Loves her stuffy toys  and runs and plays with her dog. She has not bothered her cat. She is a shadow dog and will follow you everywhere. Tippy has had a professional grooming and will be spayed on June 13th. She can leave for adoption a few days later. Tippy behaves well and does not need a crate. Tippy is currently being fostered in South Bend, She will be transferred to Crown Point when she is spayed. Adoption will be held in Crown Point. We require a fenced-in yard (no invisible fences), someone who is home more and has the time to care for a dog, and children must be 8 years old or older.   Tippy is up to date on vaccinations, microchipped.  Please put in an application on our website, www.indianasaveadog.com. Please do not email us. If a dog is listed on our website, it is still available. You can place a $50 deposit to hold a dog/puppy after your application is approved.
