It Takes A Village Rescue, Inc. is a non-kill 501(c)(3) rescue dedicated to doing what it takes to find loving homes for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals, and to keep these animals safe and free from further suffering. Our mission is "To work as one in helping homeless animals irrespective of breed, location or circumstance." By working with committed volunteers, foster homes, veterinarians and partner rescues or shelters, we are able to rescue countless animals every year and provide them with loving temporary care as we work to find them well-matched forever homes. Although we do not discriminate based on breed, size or color, we have a particular interest in bully breeds, special medical needs, senior dogs, black dogs and other hard-to-place animals.

Meet Rags R. Muffin

At 8 years old, Rags is a sweet, sensitive terrier mix who’s looking for a calm, understanding home where he can truly thrive. He may take a bit of time to warm up, but once he feels safe, he is incredibly loving, loyal, and affectionate. He’s happiest lounging on the couch next to his person or enjoying a quiet day in the yard (where he proudly announces his presence with a signature bark!).While he has done well with a calm 8-year-old child. A home without young kids or high-energy pets is a must. If there’s another dog in the home, they’ll need to be calm, gentle, and respectful of Raggy’s space. Rags is very low-maintenance in day-to-day life. He doesn’t demand much—just a patient person, a soft spot on the couch, and a steady routine. He can be nervous in new places or around chaos, but once he trusts you, he becomes your loyal little shadow.If you’re looking for a deeply devoted companion and can offer a peaceful home with patience and love, Rags R. Muffin may just be your perfect match. He’s waiting to give his heart to someone who understands him.All of our dogs are examined by a veterinarian, given age-appropriate vaccinations, dewormed, microchipped, spayed or neutered, heartworm tested and treated if necessary.
