S.A.D. is an all-volunteer 501c3 nonprofit organization located in Starke County, Indiana. We are a private rescue and do not receive funds from the County. We are a foster-based rescue with a mission to serve the homeless dogs by fostering and supporting healthy, positive relationships between people and companion animals. S.A.D. rehomes companion pets into safe, healthy, lifelong homes; serves as an educational and counseling resource; and works to reduce pet overpopulation. We do it because every dog deserves a home

Meet Fynny

Fynny and his brother Fabio were born on 12/28/2024. They are 4 months old, and are AKC-registered Golden Retrievers. They have the typical Golden Retriever personality: happy and friendly. Mom is 40 lbs, and dad is 65 lbs. Fynny is currently 28 lbs and will be big like his dad. We require a fenced-in yard, no invisible fences: someone who is home more and has the time to care for a puppy. We do not adopt puppies to families with kids under the age of 8.  Puppies are up to date on vaccinations, deworming, and microchipped. He will not be neutered before adoption, as our vet will not neuter under the age of 6 months. A UC Davis study concluded that neutering Golden Retrievers before one year of age may increase the risk of developing certain cancers and joint diseases. Adopter will sign a spay/ neuter agreement and place a deposit of $75. The spay/neuter deposit is retained by us and shall be returned to the adopter with proof of spay/neuter. He is up to date on vaccines, including Rabies. Dewormed, vet checked, and microchipped. If a puppy is listed on our website, it is still available. He can leave for adoption after May 20th. You can place a deposit of $50 if your application is approved to hold him until adoption day.
