Meet Palomo! He is a roughly 1 year old bulldog mix who is also deaf. This adorably sweet little potato didnât have the best start in life. He was located on a cable hooked to a fence with a string attached and tied around his neck. He was sitting under a mattress that was leaning up against the fence. To evaluate how he does with other dogs he was taken to playgroup. He does very well with dog friends. We noticed Palomo limping. Our amazing med team examined him and found he has a left femoral neck fracture that requires surgery (despite the confusing name, it has nothing to do with an actual neck, and is a term referring to an injury in his leg!). Palomo had his FHO surgery on 6-4-25 and is recovering nicely. He spent some time in a foster home that let us know that he loves spending time with people, shredding boxes and toys, does well with other dogs and cats, and LOVES watching his favorite television show Law and Order while having a fan blow on him. He must also follow a strict gradual activity protocol to ensure his leg heals properly. If you are interested in meeting Palomo please stop by the shelter! His adopters will need to provide a vet reference at the time of his adoption. Staff members can answer any questions you may have about this cute boy. FWACC reserves the right to place him into the best fit home.
