Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Tiny Dog

Tiny Dog is a 1-year-old Miniature Australian Shepherd who weighs just 16.6 pounds, but don’t let her size fool you—this little pup is full of energy, personality, and heart. True to her breed, she’s a lively and intelligent companion who thrives on staying active and having a job to do. Whether she’s running laps in the yard, chasing toys, or showing off her impressive speed, Tiny Dog is always on the move and would likely excel in agility with the right training. She’s house and crate trained and sleeps soundly through the night in her kennel. Her favorite activities include playing with toys, chewing on bones, hopping in the car for a ride, and soaking up as much attention as she can get. She’s affectionate and sweet, always up for a cuddle when the day winds down. Tiny Dog has been raised with a rambunctious toddler and does great with kids. She also enjoys the company of other dogs, though she’s still learning that not every dog appreciates her enthusiastic greetings and playful pounces. Tiny Dog is outgoing with familiar people and can be a little shy around strangers at first, but she warms up quickly. She’s had some basic obedience training and is eager to learn more, especially when food is involved. She’s highly trainable and thrives with structure and consistent guidance. Her recall still needs work, and because she loves to turn playtime into a game of “catch me if you can,” a secure fenced yard is required to keep her safe. With the right mix of activity, love, and patience, Tiny Dog will make a wonderful, devoted companion. She’s smart, affectionate, and ready for her next big adventure—ideally with someone who understands her breed and is excited to help her reach her full potential. Her minimum adoption fee is $400 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
