Meet Smiley
Meet Smiley – A Tiny Survivor with a Huge Heart!Smiley is one of four Yorkies recently rescued from heartbreaking conditions—confined kept in rabbit hutches by a puppy mill in Mississippi. West Point Clay County Animal Shelter took her an the others in and brought her to us.She was severely matted and had to be shaved down, but even that couldn’t hide her charm. Her adorable name, Smiley, suits her perfectly—just look at that sweet little tongue that’s always peeking out!Though she's underweight due to a moveable jaw which makes eating kibble difficult, Smiley will make fast progress on a diet of soft food—and she’s loving every bite! Don't let her tiny size fool you—Smiley is bold, curious, and full of life. She’s already exploring the yard like a big dog, showing off her fearless personality. She is a Warrior Princess! With proper nutrition and some time, Smiley will not only regain her strength, but her coat will grow back soft and beautiful. What she needs now is a forever home where she’ll be loved and cherished the way she always deserved.Smiley will be available for adoption through Reach Rescue Inc starting Friday. If you're looking for a pint-sized companion with a big spirit and an even bigger heart, Smiley might just be your perfect match.Fill out an adoption application to schedule your own private meet and greet with this furry friend.Follow us on Facebook for additional updates and sneak peeks of new dogs! https://www.facebook.com/reachrescue
Adoption Process
If a particular pooch has caught your eye or if youâre searching for a new furry family member, take a few minutes to complete our online adoption application or stop by our Adoption Events to visit with our adoptable pups.
Our application review team will contact you as they process your application and check with your references. Applications are reviewed in the order they are received, but our primary responsibility is to find the best home for each individual dog and the best match for you and your family regardless of application order. We want to see that every animal and family are well-suited as a forever match.
Our adoption fees vary by the animalâs age and specific breed. All adopted dogs will receive vaccinations against distemper, hepatitis, parainfluenza, and parvovirus, as well as flea/tick treatments and de-worming. Dogs who are too young to be spayed/neutered and vaccinated against rabies will receive vouchers to one of our local veterinary partners.
Please contact us with any additional questions! We are available by phone at 847-566-6799, through our website, or through direct messaging on Facebook. Weâre happy to answer any questions and work with you as you search for your new family member!
