My journey started in a bit of a rough patch, but thanks to some caring souls, I'm ready to start a brand new chapter.  Once upon a time, the Chicago Police found me during an eviction, all alone in a home with no food or water. It wasn't the best situation, but they scooped me up and brought me to Chicago Animal Control. When they weighed me, I was a mere 35 pounds, definitely on the thin side for a dog like me.  But fate had other plans for me. The wonderful intake team at Care spotted my calm demeanor in my kennel and decided to give me a chance. They saw something special in me, and I was overjoyed to show them just how clever and loving I could be. Before I knew it, I was on my way to Care, ready to start my journey to recovery.  Thanks to the love and care I received at Care, along with some delicious food and the occasional boiled egg treat (yum!), I've put on some healthy weight. Now I'm a sturdy 48 pounds, with a bit more to go to reach my ideal size.   So, what's Alina all about? Well, I love all  high squeaky toys and playing ball. I may not have mastered the art of bringing the ball back yet, but I'm working on it! While I'm not a fan of cats, I do enjoy watching rabbits from a distance. And when it comes to leash manners, I've got that down pat.   As for other dogs, I'm still learning the ropes. I need a proper introduction and some guidance, but I'm eager to make friends and become the best version of myself.   But above all, I'm a people pup through and through. I adore humans and dream of finding a loving family to call my own forever. With my genuine love and endless kisses, I'm ready to bring joy and companionship to my forever home. Are you ready to open your heart to a survivor like me? Let's make some memories together!   I have been spayed and microchipped and have had a full veterinary checkup and vaccines. My adoption fee is $325. For more information or if you would like to meet me, please fill out an adoption survey at carenorthshore.org/dog-adoption-survey Love and Licks Alina

Adoption Process
Our adoption process has evolved from many years of experience. The goal of our adoption counselors is to make a good match between animal and family. We get to know each cat or dog's unique personality and different needs. If a specific dog, for example, has large amounts of energy and needs lots of space to run, it is unlikely that he would meet the needs of a person who works long hours and would be unable to exercise the dog. It would be a mismatch that would be bad for dog and human alike. Our adoption counselors look forward to working with you to help you find the right pet for your home.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
