Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Bud

This handsome fella is Bud - he is a Black Lab mix born 1/19/23. At his last weigh-in he was 20 pounds. We anticipate he will be medium to large when full grown. Bud is a happy boy (his tail is always wagging!) who can't wait to meet his forever family!   Bud's foster mama says that he is the "sweetest, happiest puppy ever!" He showers everyone with kisses, a wiggly back end, and a wagging tail. He has become a little bit hesitant of new people at first, but once you give him a minute he will show his true loving, goofy self. When he is tired, his favorite place to be sleeping is in someone's lap! Bud loves dogs, kids, and all humans - he also likes the cats in his foster home.  This cutie-pie loves to play fetch with tennis balls, and brings them back. He also enjoys chewing on water bottles and hard Nylabone-type bones. He even entertains himself when people or other dogs are busy! He is pleased to play by himself with his tennis balls and squeaky toys. Bud knows "sit" and he should pick up on other commands quickly. He is exploring walking on a leash and doing very well. Once he’s tired out from all of his walking and playing he makes the cutest noises while taking a nap. He’s also learning to be quite the snuggle bug. He is fully crate trained and almost completely house trained. There is a doggy door in his foster home and Bud has learned to use it.  He will go outside on his own to go potty or just to explore the yard. Bud loves to bring treasures (like sticks) inside and proudly shows his foster mama. He also loves to bring her his favorite toys as a prized possession. His foster mama thinks he would be an amazing addition to any home!  If you have a Bud-sized spot in your heart, please arrange to meet him today! His minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.  He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
