Meet Tony

Tony is a gorgeous little 6 month old male Maltipoo who weighs in at 5 pounds.  This dog's adoption fee is $1050.  If you are still interested, please read more below. Tony here:  I am an incredibly sweet little boy. I absolutely adore attention and can not wait to be picked up and snuggled. I am learning I get more attention if I sit quietly on my bed when I want to be picked up instead of barking.  I do bark to let you know I should be the center of your world and want to be your BFF!  And, when you see how cute I am, you will see why. I LOVE to be held, carried and told how cute I am.   I will sit with you when you watch TV, eat your meals, or hang out with you and your  friends for hours.  I actually like snuggles and hugs more than I like toys sometimes. Even though I am labeled as a Maltipoo, the vet thinks I am mostly a regal Maltese. I am  a solid white puppy with a cute little curly tail. I am very curious and very brave. Well, I try to be brave.  I am a little shy at first but once I see that you like to snuggle just as much as I do. I love ANYONE who holds me.  I do get the zoomies at times during the day, right when I wake up, and right before bed time.  It is absolutely adorable to watch and I can run back and forth to get my daily steps in.   I have met big dogs and little dogs and have no fear of them. I think they should all be my BFF’s, but I need to learn that not all dogs like adorable cute puppies like me. I do my little ‘look at me, I’m so cute' dance in front of everyone.  I am an incredibly fast learner and my foster  mom thinks I will be able to learn a ton of tricks.  I was surrendered to ARF from Missouri from a breeder who is shutting down. I have been bathed and brushed and didn’t mind it at all because I do like to look my best.  I am really working on potty training and can hold it all night, like for 8 hours.  I just need to go right away when I wake up.  I don’t mind my harness and leash, but have not yet learned to walk straight when wearing one. I also ABSOLUTELY LOVE grass and do this cute little army crawl when I get to be in it. It makes my foster mom laugh. At first I was afraid of sidewalks and walkways, but now they don’t bother me at all. I have even mastered carpeted stairs.  I am microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations and even neutered.  As much as I think I am the boss of the world, I will definitely need some obedience training classes to make me even smarter than I think I already am.  I am still a little nervous when I am alone so I will need some patience with helping me settle into my new forever home.  I really like to be able to see my BFF to know that I am safe.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you are interested in adopting this dog, fill out an Online Application today!  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.

Adoption Process
Read more about our adoption process on our website at: https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/ Adoption fees depend on the animal. Please see the pet’s biography for information on their adoption fee. Below is an overview of what you can expect during the pet adoption process: Step 1: Submit an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Step 2: Our volunteers will review your application and reach out with a status. This step can take up to five business days. Step 3: If your application is approved you will be invited to meet with the cat or dog you are interested in at a mutually agreed upon time and location. Step 4: We’ll walk you through the benefits of adopting through A.R.F., then complete the adoption paperwork and collect the adoption fee. Then your new best friend is yours! Step 5: Complete required follow-ups such as obedience training or spay/neuter (if delayed due to medical reasons).
