Meet Skye

Hello!  My name is Skye. I am a very affectionate, sweet, calm, and low energy, 2yr old, small sized (10lb), slender, short-haired Dachshund/Beagle/Chi mix. My name should actually be "cuddles" because cuddling with my foster humans on the couch, in bed, or on the floor is my favorite thing to do. I love to be with my humans, I am always by their side or in their lap. I will sit next to them on the couch or crawl in their lap if they are reading or watching a movie or in a dog bed next to them if they are at their desk working. I really do love lap time!  I also love being held and giving kisses! At night, I curl up on my male human's shoulder and rest my head on his neck. I especially love morning wake up scratches. I am fostered with two small dogs (20lbs), one medium sized dog (30lbs), and one adult cat. I get along well with all of them but they are not necessary for me. My humans are my priority. I would be fine in a family as an only dog but only if my humans were home with me. I would not like being left home alone without any human or canine companion for more than 4hrs per day. I don't play with dog toys a lot but do sometimes enjoy chewing on a small stuffed toy or dog bone. I travel well in the car and I enjoy meeting new people. Your application will be reviewed by our team and if it is a good fit, we will send to the foster family to set up a meet! The adoption fee of $400 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family. IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: Although we do our best to describe breed, since our pups all come from shelters we can not and will not make any guarantee on breed or size. We can tell you that they are 100% RESCUED! And that is the BEST breed! *please note that we are a foster home based rescue and we do home visits as part of the adoption process - we are unable to adopt to families who live outside of the Chicago and surrounding suburbs. Adoption Process
Interested adopters need to complete a pre adoption application. This can be found on our website at www.starfishanimalrescue.com - we schedule meet and greets with approved applications only.
