Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Myla

At 2 years old and weighing 44.9 pounds, Myla is a gentle, affectionate girl who’s ready to be your new best friend. She’s house and crate trained, but prefers snuggling up with her human foster siblings at night—she’s all about the company! Myla is a bit of a couch potato, but make no mistake—she’d sell a kidney for a treat! She enjoys car rides, leisurely walks, belly rubs, a good bone to chew on, and cozy cuddle sessions. She already knows “sit” and can even stand on her hind legs when there’s a snack involved. This friendly and adaptable girl is wonderful with dogs and humans of all ages. She’s calm, gentle, and completely unbothered by the antics around her. While she hasn’t met cats, her foster mom suspects she’d be just fine with them, too. Her foster mom describes her as “instant love”—no warm-up needed. She’s affectionate from the start, loves to give kisses, and just wants to be close to her people. Although she enjoys the company of other dogs, she definitely prefers humans (and the only thing that’s ever made her nervous was a bossy Shih Tzu!). Her minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
