Meet Tay Tay 8-year-old Tay Tay came to the shelter on 5/29/25 with her 9-year-old sister Sasha after their owner passed away. Both girls had lived in a hoarding situation, with very limited exposure to the outside world. At intake, Tay Tay was fearful and shut down â trembling in her kennel, avoiding contact, and unsure of how to trust new people. But with patience, consistency, and kindness, Tay Tay has shown just how resilient she is. In just a couple of weeks, sheâs gone from cowering in the back of her kennel to happily greeting staff for walks, enjoying time in the yard, and even seeking out affection. Sheâs made friends with multiple staff members and continues to build trust with new people each day. What Weâve Learned About Tay Tay:Sheâs a workable, sweet dog who is slowly gaining confidence. While initially fearful, she shows no aggression and has made steady progress through daily handling and enrichment.Tay Tay enjoys walks and yard time, especially when allowed to explore at her own pace. She tends to eat grass when anxious â this may stem from stress or digestive issues and is being monitored. Ideal Home for Tay Tay:A home with someone around often or access to a dog walker to help with separation anxiety.Kids 8+ or families experienced with respectful childâdog interactions.Could live with another calm, respectful dog â she did well with our helper dog Assada and may enjoy the company of a mellow canine companion. She also still enjoys time with her sister Sasha.A secure, fenced yard would be a great space for her to exercise and decompress.Positive reinforcement training and scent work would help build her confidence and give her a rewarding outlet for her energy.Tay Tay has already come such a long way â and sheâs just getting started. With the right match, sheâll blossom into the loyal, loving companion she was always meant to be. ??#AdoptTayTay #SeniorDogLove #RescueTransformation #FromFearfulToFree #AdoptDontShop
