Meet STORMY

Meet Stormy – A Gentle Soul with a Story Written in Rainclouds Stormy is a stunning 2-year-old German Shepherd who was found in O’Fallon on 5/29/25, seeking shelter during a heavy storm. A kind-hearted Good Samaritan brought her to safety, and in honor of that day, she earned her name—Stormy—a symbol of both her strength and softness.Stormy is a shy, sensitive girl who’s still learning that the world can be safe and people can be kind. She needs patience and gentle guidance as she builds confidence—but once she begins to trust you, she slowly opens up and reveals her sweet, loyal heart. This beautiful girl is currently heartworm positive, so she’ll need a family willing to support her through treatment and recovery. With care and love, Stormy has every chance to thrive and live a long, happy life.Because of her breed traits and sensitive nature, Stormy is best suited for a home with a family who has experience with German Shepherds or herding breeds—someone who understands her unique mix of emotional sensitivity and working-dog instincts. She would do best with children over the age of 12 at this time. While her sister is currently in a foster-to-adopt home with cats and living peacefully with them, we believe Stormy might be able to do the same in the right situation. ?? It’s important to note that German Shepherds often have strong prey drives—a natural instinct to chase running animals—so not every household cat will be a good match. Any potential feline housemates should have a calm, confident temperament, and introductions should be slow, structured, and closely supervised. If placed with another dog, a calm, confident, lower-energy or senior companion would be ideal—someone who respects her pace and helps her continue building confidence in a quiet, reassuring environment.Stormy is searching for a home that understands her gentle nature, gives her the time she needs to feel safe, and will love her through both the storms and the sunshine.Adopt Stormy—and help her turn the page to a brighter chapter.
