A.R.F.-Animal Rescue Foundation is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3), no-kill humane society based in the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. Our family of volunteers is dedicated to rescuing, fostering, and caring for homeless dogs and orphan cats while we find them their forever homes. Meet Leah

Leah is an 8-12 week old female Aussie who weighs in at 7.7 pounds. Leah came from a puppy mill operation in Missouri with her siblings. She loves all humans and cuddling! She loves to play with soft squeaky toys but will also happily nap at your feet while you work. She loves her people!  She is working on potty training and is very loyal, affectionate, and cuddly.  She makes fast friends with all humans she meets! This pup is micro-chipped and up to date on all vaccinations, and spayed. The new family will be required to complete a basic obedience course of their choosing.  The pup's adoption fee is $500. Please note ARF does not approve applications for any puppy under 6 months of age to families that live outside of Illinois and/or beyond 100 miles of Wheaton or Glen Ellyn, IL.  A meeting will not be scheduled until you have an approved application, so if you're interested in adopting this pup fill out an online application today!  https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/  Once your application has been approved, an ARF volunteer will contact you to arrange a meeting.  ARF is an all volunteer organization.  Due to a high volume of applications, we are often unable to respond to questions until your application has been approved.  Thank you for your patience! 

Adoption Process

Below is an overview of what you can expect during the pet adoption process: Step 1: Submit an online adoption application at https://www.arf-il.org/adopt/application/ Step 2: Our volunteers will review your application and reach out with a status. This step can take up to five business days. Step 3: If your application is approved you will be invited to meet with the cat or dog you are interested in at a mutually agreed upon time and location. Step 4: We’ll walk you through the benefits of adopting through A.R.F., then complete the adoption paperwork and collect the adoption fee. Then your new best friend is yours! Step 5: Complete required follow-ups such as obedience training or spay/neuter (if delayed due to medical reasons).
