Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Bella

Bella, the delightful senior Chug (Chihuahua/Pug mix), is the epitome of love and resilience. At the seasoned age of 10, she has gracefully weathered life's storms and now seeks the warmth of a forever home where she can shower her affection on her new human companions. This sweet girl's journey hasn't been without its challenges. Bella found herself in the tender care of Wish Bone after losing her beloved mama and home. But fear not, for Bella's tale takes a heartwarming turn as she lands softly in the loving embrace of a foster family, where she gets along well with the other dogs and her young human foster sister. Bella's loving nature knows no bounds. From the moment she sets her gentle gaze upon you, she showers you with unconditional love and loyalty. Her heart is open wide, embracing everyone in her orbit, be it an eight-year-old bundle of energy, a seasoned 16-year-old, or the adults who are lucky enough to cross her path. Visitors are greeted with wagging tails and eager sniffs, as Bella extends her paw in friendship, welcoming pets and back scratches from anyone willing to offer them. A true lady of sophistication, Bella is housetrained with an impeccable record of no accidents. She knows the drill, making her way to the back door when nature calls, or patiently waiting for her humans to guide her. Her gentle demeanor extends to her furry companions, seamlessly navigating the dynamics of big dogs, little dogs, wild ones, and even the resident cat, Bella isn't without her quirks, each adding to her undeniable charm. Her vision may be a tad blurry, but that doesn't stop her from seeing the beauty in life. To ensure her safety, precautions are taken to safeguard her from accidental stumbles. Bella can successfully walk up 3 or 4 steps on her own, but needs to be carried down even those few steps. And let's not forget her toothy grin, adorned with a few missing teeth, giving her an endearing, slightly goofy grin with a tongue that often hangs out the side of her mouth. Despite life's twists and turns, Bella's spirit remains unbroken, her capacity for love unwavering. Now, all she dreams of is finding that special someone or family who will cherish her golden years and bask in the warmth of her unwavering affection. Are you ready to open your heart and home to Bella, the gentle soul with a heart of gold? Her minimum adoption fee is $195 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
