Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Pixie

Meet Pixie, a captivating 3-year-old mixed breed weighing in at 48 lbs. She exudes charm and grace, boasting a stunning coat that complements her delightful personality. Pixie has mastered the art of both house and crate training, finding solace on her plush dog bed in her foster parent's room at night. With her moderate exercise requirements, Pixie revels in frolicking with her fellow furry companions both indoors and outdoors. Whether it's a playful romp in the yard or a spirited game of fetch with her beloved toys, Pixie's zest for life knows no bounds. While she hasn't had exposure to children in her foster home, her gentle nature suggests she'll thrive in a family environment, particularly with kids over the age of 5. Though initially reserved, Pixie's heartwarming demeanor quickly shines through, earning her the reputation of being friendly, playful, and admirably quiet. However, her cautious nature prompts the need for a secure fenced yard to ensure her safety. Pixie is extremely fearful on leash and has been known to slip out of her harness, which is why a secure yard is essential. With love, patience, and training, we hope her fear will diminish, but in the meantime, she will definitely need a Harness Lead and/or a Martingale Collar for walks. Described affectionately by her foster mom as a sweetheart, Pixie's joy knows no bounds when surrounded by the company of her four-legged friends. She delights in outdoor adventures, basking in the sunshine and reveling in the freedom of the great outdoors. And when the day's excitement winds down, Pixie transforms into a cuddle connoisseur, nestling close for moments of pure affection. Embark on a journey with Pixie and experience the unconditional love and companionship she eagerly offers. With her adoption fee starting at $295, plus an additional $15 fee for rabies registration for McLean County residents aged 4 months or older, Pixie eagerly awaits her forever home, where she can continue to enchant and delight those lucky enough to cross her path. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
