Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Baked Bean

Baked Bean is a five-year-old Beagle mix who’s bringing new meaning to the phrase big dog energy. He may be carrying around a few extra pounds (okay, maybe 15-20), but don’t let his roundness fool you—this boy can move. He’s surprisingly speedy on the stairs, always up for a backyard adventure, and has been known to disappear beneath a pile of blankets or throw pillows like a hound Houdini. He’s a professional cuddler who prefers to be right on top of you, often buried somewhere cozy and soft. Bean is fully house trained and has zero interest in being confined—he’ll bark in the crate, not out of protest but because he simply doesn’t need it. He’s earned full roaming rights in his foster home and hasn’t let anyone down. At night, he snuggles under the covers with his 7-year-old foster brother, creating the perfect bedtime burrito.  This stout sweetheart is great with dogs and humans of all ages. He’ll give a hearty Beagle bark to say hello when meeting someone new, but don’t be alarmed—it’s all bark and no bluster. That said, his vocal stylings are consistent with his breed, so apartment life isn’t ideal unless your neighbors are fellow Beagle enthusiasts. He doesn’t require a fenced yard, but he'd sure enjoy one for his daily patrols and sniff-filled strolls. Baked Bean is the total package: friendly, confident, adaptable, and full of happy energy wrapped in a squishy, huggable shell. He’s looking for someone who can help him shed a few pounds, share their couch, and appreciate the many joys of a life with a Beagle-shaped shadow. His minimum adoption fee is $300 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
