Wayne County Humane Society

We are Wayne County's Humane Society and animal control. We are staffed by 2 full-time employees and a part-time employee. We also have volunteers that walk animals and socialize cats. We care for the animals because we are a rural area and there are a lot of strays and unwanted animals. We do our jobs because we want a better life for these animals. We want to place them in loving forever homes.

Meet "Walker Dog"

This sweet girl is "Walker dog". She was called this name for over a year while being a stray and running and she answers to it very well. She loves to give kisses and get butt scratches. She is always smiling and wagging her butt when she sees people that she knows around. She will require a home with a fenced in yard and no cats or dogs. She would be good with kids that are a bit bigger as she will take a bit of patience and lots of love to trust. She loves to lay next to you and play with toys. She likes treats mostly when laid on the ground in front of her. She is learning to walk on a leash and doesn't like to be crated for very long. She would love someone to share naps and watch movies with forever. Call 618-847-4012 if you're interested in this loving girl!
