Meet Jenny

Pal's Place would love to introduce Jenny, a kind, mild-mannered, and affectionate mixed-breed looking for a loving home. Sweet Jenny came to us from an overburdened animal control facility in Kentucky. She was initially a stray, so not much is known of her past, but she is estimated to be between 10-12 months old and is currently a thin 55 pounds. Jenny's breed is also unknown but appears to be a Retriever/Great Pyrenees mix. Jenny spent almost 2 months at animal control before being spotted by a Pal's Place volunteer. Large black dogs are often overlooked and are often the last to be adopted or pulled by a rescue. She is also timid and cautious around new people and would often retreat to the rear of her kennel. We looked at her soft, expressive eyes and knew she belonged at Pal's Place. Jenny is now in a loving and nurturing foster home in Chicago and is doing wonderfully. She is still timid when meeting new people but in new situations but she warms up quickly and gets braver every day. Once she's comfortable, she's a typical young dog. Full of affection, kisses, tail wags, and curiosity for the world around her. She is starting to play, walks more confidently on lead, and enjoys the company of her canine foster siblings. We think Jenny will thrive with guardians who can provide her with lots of love, encouragement, and a bit of patience while she adapts to a new environment. We are confident that Jenny will adapt very well to being the much-loved and pampered companion she deserves to be with just a little extra time and TLC. Jenny is generally quiet and well-behaved in the home, crate trained, and doing very well with her housebreaking when kept on a regular schedule. Because she is in a foster home, an adoption application must be submitted and approved by the rescue before an appointment is scheduled to meet Jenny. She is anxious to meet her new family; please reach out to us today for an application! Her adoption fee to the rescue is $375. She is spayed, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested (neg), and taking monthly flea and heartworm prevention. For more information or an application, please email [email protected] or visit palsplacerescue.org. Adoption applications and correspondence from the rescue may end up in your spam or junk folder. If you are waiting for a reply from us, please also check those folders. We cannot hold our dogs for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are ready to meet and welcome a new companion into the home within three days of applying. • Jennys adoption fee to the rescue is $375. This fee helps to cover her vaccines, spay, microchip, and any other necessary care needed to prepare her for adoption. All of our dogs are in foster homes while they await adoption and can be visited by appointment once an adoption application is submitted and approved by the rescue. To complete an adoption application online, visit http://palsplacerescue.org/adopt/ or email [email protected] for an application or more information. We cannot place holds on our dogs for any reason. Please do not apply unless you are ready to welcome a new member into the home within three days of applying. • Pal's Place adoption fees start at $475 for puppies and $375 for dogs aged six months or older. This fee helps to cover medical expenses needed to prepare dogs for adoption (vaccines, microchips, spay/neuter surgeries, etc.), feeding, transportation, and general care for the dogs. Pal's Place is 100% reliant on donations to care for our rescued dogs.

Adoption Process
The majority of our dogs are rescued from Hazard County, Kentucky. After rescue, the dogs are placed into foster homes in Chicago. Once in fosters, our dogs are fully vetted. This includes age-appropriate vaccines, microchips, parasite control and testing, heartworm testing and treatment if ncessary and any other care needed prior to adoption. All dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered before placement. Our adoption fees for senior dogs (8+) start at $175, our fee for adult dogs is $375 and our fee for puppies 6 months or younger is $475. An application is required to be considered for adoption and an adoption contract is signed at the time of adoption including a clause that any dog must be returned to Pal's Place for placement at any point if the adopter is unable to care for the dog.
