Guardians of the Green Mile Inc

GOTGM began as a group that worked as a liaison between high kill shelters and rescue groups pulling animals that needed medical treatment, getting treatment and vetting done and then giving to the rescue group. GOTGM did the fundraising to pay for vetting, rescues kept the adoption fees. We have what is known as the Doggie Den where up to 2 pregnant momma dogs at a time can be pulled from shelters and kept safe to have their babies and stay until the pups are at least 8 weeks old and available for adoption. More recently GOTGM began growing a foster base of our own. We now pull dogs facing euthanasia that may need heartworm treatment, broken bones mended, or need emergency medical care (hit by care) and adopt them out ourselves when they are ready to go. We have a great core group of volunteers and expanding as are the services we provide in saving pets.

Meet Wiggles

Wiggles was an owner surrender at the young age of 9 months. Originally bought from Petland, but family quickly discovered he didn’t match their laid back small lifestyle. (Please research the breed before applying!) Wiggles was fostered with Guardians for 2 months in 2022 and was adopted to a wonderful loving family. Due to a death and having to relocate, Wiggles is in need of a new home that will allow him to run, play, and join in on adventures! Wiggles is a bit overweight and will need to go on a strict diet to shed a few pounds before going on long walks or hikes. Short walks at first. Wiggles is 3 now, and he needs another home that can provide him with some activities and runs in a fenced yard. His favorite toys are balls. He LOVES his rubber squeaky ball or a tennis ball. He does okay on walks, but if he gets out or off leash HE WILL RUN AWAY! He’s a little sneaky stinker. He loves car rides too and loves to be able to look out the window. Treat wise he likes plain Greek yogurt, carrots, cucumbers, and celery. He loves kids, other dogs, he's super lovable. He is used to sleeping in a persons bed under the covers at your feet. Adoption Process
Application, Interview, Reference Checks including vet and employer, Home Visit, then Meet & Greet. Contract required, $300.00 for fully vetted dogs over 1 year old, $350 for fully vetted dogs less than 1 year old Plus $50 spay / neuter deposit
