Wish Bone Canine Rescue

several people broke off from a local rescue that had become, in our opinion, too much about prestige and money. They also weren't doing a good job in caring for the pets physically and mentally. We want to focus on the quality of our work, not quantity. We do rescue simply because it's the right thing to do! I am a certified vet tech so i've always thought that it's kind of my duty to share my talents.

Meet Jack

Jack is a 9-year-old Jack Russell Terrier mix who weighs just 10 pounds and brings a whole lot of personality in a small package. He’s a happy, friendly, and loyal companion who loves to be close to his people and will gladly follow you from room to room to stay by your side. Jack isn’t a fan of the crate and will bark when confined and he cannot see his person, but he settles down quickly when allowed to sleep in bed with his foster family, where he feels secure and content. Jack is house trained and does his business outside, though he was recently neutered and may occasionally mark indoors. He responds well to gentle verbal corrections and is eager to please. He enjoys going for both brief and longer walks, walks nicely on leash, and knows how to sit on command. Jack sometimes enjoys playing with soft toys and loves chewing on a good bully stick. This little guy has done well with the small dogs in his foster home and the other dogs he’s met—both big and small—and he’s comfortable around men, women, and new people. While he hasn’t been around children in his foster home, his calm and friendly demeanor suggests he would do fine with respectful kids. Jack enjoys car rides, playing a bit, and being close enough to curl up in your lap whenever the opportunity arises. Jack has mild separation anxiety when left alone and would do best in a home where someone is around most of the time. He should be fed separately, as he will try to steal food from other pets, but he listens when redirected and shares space nicely otherwise. With his affectionate nature and easygoing personality, Jack would make a wonderful companion in just about any loving home. His minimum adoption fee is $200 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
