Meet Zelie

Zelie (pronounced zeh-lee) is the kind of puppy who turns heads and melts hearts without even trying. Born around March 20, 2025, this little lady already weighs about 16 pounds and is growing fast—she's sure to be a big, beautiful companion when fully grown. As for her breed? That’s a bit of a mystery. We’re calling her a Mixed Breed because, frankly, we have no idea what she is aside from absolutely adorable. Her foster mom sees hints of Golden Retriever, Shar Pei, and Chow Chow in her, but whatever her mix may be, it’s clearly working in her favor. Zelie is all things puppy—joyful, curious, and wonderfully goofy. She bounds through her days with an infectious energy and loves making new dog friends. Her foster mom believes she’ll do great with kids, too, especially in a home that can give her the gentle guidance and consistency she needs to learn good manners and grow into her best self. One of Zelie’s most charming features is her expressive face. She only seems to have three modes: grumpy, sad, and full-on smiley with her tongue flopped out. But don’t be fooled—no matter what her face says, this girl is always happy. Whether she’s chasing toys, playing with her foster siblings, or soaking up affection, Zelie is pure sunshine disguised in a fuzzy, slightly confused-looking package. Her minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents. She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
