Northern Star Dog Rescue

Northern Star Dog Rescue is a foster based rescue who pulls dogs from euthanasia that have less than 20 mins to live. We also take in dogs that have came from hoarding cases, have severe neglect and abuse, fear, and health. We work hard rehabilitating them and then find them amazing homes.

Meet Pete

Pete is full of love for everyone and everything he meets. He just melts our hearts! He loves to be by his persons side all the time. Pete also loves to be held like a baby in your arms. He can even twirk. lol Pete has lots of energy and will do best with a family who is active. He is water and ball crazy. He listens well and can easily go places with you whether walks and hikes and enjoy events. He needs to have a canine buddy he can play with. He is friendly with all and any dog but some can get annoyed by his energetic manner.  He is good with cats.  Pete is fully trained plus some and him doing tricks is adorable. He would be a fantastic sports dog in disk, rally, agility etc. Pete was having a hard time in his crate when watching other dogs go by and he had to stay behind but as soon as he got into a foster home with fewer dogs, he did great and will often choose the crate for nap time of his own volition. Pete is a 1 1/2 year old border collie.  If you’re interested in adopting Pete please fill out a pre adoption application on the link below. Adoption Process
Our adoption process is first filling out a pre-adoption application. once we receive a background check, home check, and fence line check are done. Once that has been done then we contact you and talk about who your interested in and set up a meet and greet. All humans and other canines must meet. If the meet and greet go well and the potential adopters want to move forward to adoption trial they can. We do a mandatory two week trial. At the end of the trial should the potential adopters want to finalize then we proceed by the adoption agreement filled out, adoption fee paid, all medical records given and transfer the chip. We also have an adopters group that we love people to join so we can stay in touch with our furry friends and see their adventures.

Look for other dogs for adoption!
