Meet Henry
We think Henry has a potential future as a model; just look at how well he shows off his good looks! He isn’t just gorgeous on the outside but inside, too. Such kindness and composure, elegance and grace. And then he takes off and catches air for a toy and the picture is shattered! Impressive but not particularly dignified, right? Ah well, we like that Henry can be both calm and energetic – without being out of control - serious and playful, but always loving and loyal. Due to his past, he gets a bit nervous when you reach towards him to put a collar on or take it off or clip a lead on him, but with a little patience he handles it okay. Henry also needs to be in a non smoking home. Again due to his past Henry reflects back and that's what sticks in his head. Henry is good with large dogs when meeting them in neutral territory, but he should be in an only dog home. Play dates are fine. He is okay with cats. He has been good with older kids. Said to be 4-5 years old as of end of 2022. Housetrained and crate trained. Due to his past, Henry shows food aggression towards dogs and people and needs kindness, understanding, and the right intervention to learn to trust in this regard. He is fine when you give him treats with no other dogs around. Understand in the animal world when you let go of something it is fair game. Unlike if we as people we sit something down it's still ours. And especially when a dog has never truly owned anything and then they do, they are protective of that human, food, toys even space. So patience and trust is key. When you have gained that fully, you can't ask for a better dog. And that bond is unbelievable. Henry is a purebred great Dane. Adoption Process
Our adoption process is first filling out a pre-adoption application. once we receive a background check, home check, and fence line check are done. Once that has been done then we contact you and talk about who your interested in and set up a meet and greet. All humans and other canines must meet. If the meet and greet go well and the potential adopters want to move forward to adoption trial they can. We do a mandatory two week trial. At the end of the trial should the potential adopters want to finalize then we proceed by the adoption agreement filled out, adoption fee paid, all medical records given and transfer the chip. We also have an adopters group that we love people to join so we can stay in touch with our furry friends and see their adventures.
