Pet Adoption League of Gem County

We are a non-profit animal shelter ran by animal loving volunteers. We are a no kill shelter. We spay and neuter all our pets before adopting out. Our goal here is to return lost pets to their owners, find homes for those who have none, and promote compassionate treatment of animals everywhere.

Meet Snickers

Snickers is an adorable hound mix who was rescued from a bad hoarding situation in Central Oregon. When she first arrived, she was totally shut down but with loving care, she has blossomed into the outgoing loving dog within. Because she wasn’t socialized as a pup, she is shy.  But each day, she becomes more and more outgoing.  She loves people and other dogs.  She is hesitant about meeting very large dogs.  She is a little shy meeting people too but warms up quickly. Snickers loves the outdoors and likes to be out in the yard.  Once she sees her person come home, she does a “full body wag” and does a little dance because she is so happy to see you.  Snickers also loves to cuddle. She has chased cats so best to be in a “no cat” home.  However, she is very smart and trainable, so she may be able to co-exist with a cat with patience and training. Snickers is a fast learner.  Because she gets so excited to be in a loving home, she may not be a good fit for toddlers as she may knock them down with her exuberance.   She loves walks and is great on leash--she does not pull at all. She had a hard start in life with many scary situations.  Because of that, she is very appreciative of a loving home and will give a lifetime of unconditional love.   Are you ready to show and give Snickers all the love and attention she deserves? If so, call the shelter to set up an appointment to see her!   All dogs are vaccinated, microchipped and spayed or neutered (if they are old enough) before they leave the shelter. Please fill out an application if you are interested in this dog or call us today for more information     Because we are an all-volunteer organization, please call ahead to schedule a time for a Meet & Greet so we can ensure a dog handler is available to show you the dog or dogs you are interested in.     Pet Adoption League  1526 N.
